From I-64 take exit 172 and go south on route 7 (appox 8 miles) until you cross the dam. Take the first left on the other side of the dam and the visitor center will be in view. For boaters there are 4 launch ramps available, the Corps managed launch ramp is convienantly located at the dam site near the marina, the other locations are at Clifty Creek, Bruin (near Grayson State Park) and Caney. Camping Facilities are available and maintained by the Grayson Lake State Park. Fishing is extremely popular during the summers months. Most sought after spears are bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill. Trout are stocked inthe downsteam area. The Damsite Recreation area has 4 shelters and a fishing pier that are all handicap accessable. Located 3 miles from the park, a marina has everything you need for a great day on the lake: rental fishing boats and pontoon boats, bait, grocery and rest rooms. Marina open year-round; fee for boat rentals. Grayson Lake State Park is as serenely beautiful as it is historically rich. Majestic sandstone bluffs form a walled canyon high above the 1,512-acre lake.
Grayson Lake is a 1,500-acre (6.1 km2) reservoir in Carter and Elliott counties in Kentucky. It was created by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1968 by impounding the Little Sandy River.[1]
