Wood Creek Lake Description

Wood Creek Lake is located in Laurel County about 6 miles northwest of London. The dam is a highway fill embankment on Interstate 75 about 9 miles north of London. This lake was completed in 1969. Facilities include a launching area, boat dock, and parking area. Boats, live bait, and tackle are available. THE FISHERY: Species present in the lake include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, white crappie, channel catfish, bluegill, redear sunfish, rock bass, longear sunfish, and yellow bullhead. Scenic crystal clear waters makes this 900 acre lake a great fishing spot. There are two main forks: Wood Creek and Gillis Branch, and several other medium long sloughs. The lake is too narrow for pleasure boating. Wood Creek is home of the state large mouth bass record of 13 lbs. 10oz. The lake has 30.6 miles of shoreline.

Wood Creek Lake is a 672-acre reservoir in Laurel County, Kentucky. Created by impounding Wood Creek in 1969, the lake is located in the middle of Daniel Boone National Forest.[1]
